About the Center: Good News Productions, International in Thailand was established in 1993 in partnership with Freedom Films Productions. Tom Silkwood, regional director, works with a Thai staff to produce visual media to reach those in Thailand and surrounding countries with the timeless message of Christ in a culturally sensitive way.

Youth in Thailand struggle with many of the same relational issues that kids in the USA fall prey to, and in response to that, the team produced a full-length drama, Path of Decision. This drama addresses the issues of pregnancy outside of marriage and the preservation of life.

Tom and Gayle Silkwood have also founded a group called X-Treme Teenz TV Club. They recognized a need for positive activities for teenagers. This group has grown quickly and several productions have been completed. One example is a video of the miraculous, true story about a man who served as a missionary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Due to an accident several years ago, he became a quadriplegic. He never lost his faith, and eventually regained his ability to walk, and now runs six miles a day! Since video production is a very team-oriented process, the kids learn to work together and to use media as they develop Christian productions for their peers.
