Sergei Golovin, regional director for GNPI-Ukraine writes, : ”The greatest news of the month – we have started shooting of the outdoor scenes for The Lesson!”

This drama is geared toward teenagers and their specific challenges. It deals with gender roles and relationships, drugs, sex, abortion, values, and faith. The story is told from the perspective of a girl named Masha. (pictured right) Her personal journey leads her from her deepest conviction that “Love is God,” to the understanding that “God is love.”

The Lesson (Urok in Russian) deals with the same issues as projects that have been produced in Kenya, the US, and Mexico and are currently in production in Thailand and Singapore. While each project has its own storyline and plot relating to the issues within a particular culture, GNPI regional centers benefit, by developing and building on the work and experiences of the other centers who have gone before them in a particular endeavor. It’s another great example of the synergy within Good News Productions, International. Similar projects. Locally produced. Culturally targeted. Each a better tool because all share experience and insight.

As a matter of prayer, Sergei relates this: “By our initial plan, it had to be completed by now, but various hindrances and adversaries did not allow us even to start it for a while. I believe this is a sign that a great door for effective work has opened here (1Cor.16:9), and Satan is very unhappy with it. Nevertheless, we got started due to the prayers of many people. Please keep praying for the project – we would like to complete it by the end of the year.”
