Pedro, Sophia, and the Anteater
Cómo Escapar de las Garras Del Yurumí (How to Escape the Claws of the Anteater) Audio CDCómo Escapar de las Garras del Yurumí written by Fernando Soto (How To Escape the Anteater's Claws) is a book that GNPI-Mexico recorded into an audio book. This book is an allegory of Satan who comes to kill, steal, and destroy just like an anteater. The audio book CD accelerated the evangelism of one family by helping a man understand his need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Maria Elana, a lifelong Christian, had been sharing her faith with Sophia. Sophia and her husband Pedro were part of a religious group that used the Bible, but they really distanced themselves from Jesus. Eventually, Sophia challenged Maria, “What makes your way right and my way wrong?” With that question evangelism hit a brick wall—at least for a bit.

Then, Maria remembered the audio book GNPI had recorded. She got a copy and gave it to Sophia. Sophia shared it with her husband, Pedro. After they had listened, Pedro began to talk to Maria. “I never had seen it that way, but as I read the Bible I’m beginning to see that what the audio book is saying is true! I finally understand. I need somebody to baptize my wife, my daughter and me. We have listened to the audio book CD and we see a need to be baptized according to the scripture. We just got some drops of water on us before. This makes sense." And so the three of them were immersed!

Now Pedro is using the audio book to try to bring others to the understanding he has because of the message in that book. What a powerful testimony! Maria is not a preacher or an evangelist, but she became an evangelist with the audio book. This testimony illustrates how media can be a tool in the hands of a lifelong Christian or a brand new Christian—at the time when he or she is probably the most excited about their faith.
