Wildflowers and Dancing Children

During my recent visit to GNPI’s regional center in Ukraine, Sergei Golovin, our regional director, told me about a children’s Christmas musical that his team was preparing to videotape. I added it to my list of ‘future projects’ and moved on to a discussion of other projects they were considering. The truth is, a Christmas musical for children didn’t really sound too exciting to me, especially when compared to some of the other teaching materials they had on the agenda.

Music Videos Shown All Over Africa

Do you remember when M-TV first started broadcasting?  At the time I thought it was something creative and exciting.  Now, it’s deteriorated to erotic and vulgar videos that I hope my daughters never see!  Many fear it’s too late to reclaim the minds of youth who are captivated by this stuff. It’s the same all over the world.

A Billion are Hungry—What Should We Do?

I read recently that the number of people going hungry everyday has reached one billion for the first time in history. (Click for full story.) What is a billion of anything? One person put it this way – if you could feed a thousand people a day, 365 days a year, it would take you 2,740 YEARS to feed a billion hungry people! And that’s just to give them one meal!
